Lessons from the Warsaw Ghetto for Americans Today

I watched a documentary the other day about the Warsaw ghetto in World War II. It was original footage of the real Warsaw ghetto after the Germans arrived but before the Germans cleared it out and sent all of the Jews to concentration camps. One of the things that struck me right away was the desperate, unbelievable poverty that I saw. You see, I have never seen the real Warsaw ghetto, I've only seen (like most of you I would imagine) the movie version. In the movies things were not wonderful but not horrible either. In the movies they can't really show the utter devastation and hopelessness. But, in this real footage it showed how desperately impoverished the Jews were. People died on the streets daily from starvation. The living conditions were every bit as bad as the actual concentration camps except there were no gas chambers. No, slow starvation was the Third Reich's method of genocide up until they created the concentration camps. It was effective and cost efficient.

So, why am I writing about this? Well, I noticed that once a person gets to a certain point, once they have been fired from their jobs, their wealth confiscated, stripped of their homes, deprived of food, quarantined and then left to die it becomes too late to fight back. It's like the frog in the warm water. If an oppressor does things little by little most will try to adjust and not fight back, like most of the Jews did in World War II. The problem with this is that after awhile you become too weak to fight back and then they have you. There is nothing you CAN do any longer except hope and pray that someone else will rescue you.

The lesson learned is that you cannot let them push you to this point. One must fight back BEFORE one gets too weak. Right now we as Americans are being pushed, we have had our jobs taken from us, we have had our bill of rights regulated away in the name of security and many have lost their homes and are becoming quite desperate. We must all fight back!

How can we fight back? Well, we can fight back financially. We can quit paying usurious amounts to banksters that have already stolen trillions of dollars. We can refuse to let them take our homes through fraudulent banking practices. We can (for God's sake) quit voting for the same old tired lying politicians that tell us what we want to hear and then turn around and do exactly what the banksters want them to do. We can fight through non-compliance. We can get angry and protest, we can show our solidarity because even if you are not a frog boiling in the water, you had better believe that you are still that frog in the warm water and your turn is coming.

A pastor in Nazi Germany named Martin Neimoller once wrote:

They came first for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

Don't wait until it's your job, your home, your kids or your rights. It's time to get angry Americans, it's time to fight!
